Moon, July 2000 - Comparison of Barlow Lens

I think the images below show that the built in Barlow lens in the Questar is of little benefit with the Olympus C2020Z.

The Olympus C2020Z allows complete manual control of exposure, aperture and focusing. The images above were all made with manual control of exposure time.

When manual focusing is selected, the image on the LCD screen is magnified to help in adjusting the focus. The leftmost image below was made with the C2020Z in its manual focus mode, the focusing being done by moving the mirror of the Questar telescope to obtain the sharpest image according to my eye. The image on the right resulted from leaving the telescope focus undisturbed and the autofocus of the Olympus camera turned on.
