Caribbean Cruise, February 1998
In the spring of 1998, my grandfather (Gerard) and I took a Caribbean cruise together. The timing and location of the trip was chosen to observe the year's solar eclipse.

From San Juan, we first visited St. Thomas, then Martinique, then Barbados. The next day was the a clear day at sea for the eclipse.

After a day at sea for the eclipse, we visited Sint Maarten (or St. Martin in the French north). St. Martin is the smallest island to be occupied by two nations.

Boundary Marker. A Frenchman and a Dutchman stood back to back and walked opposite directions until they met again.
From Antigua we returned to San Juan and flew home.
