The second day of our stay in Greece we left Athens by bus to tour north of the Gulf of Corinth, prior to boarding MV Marco Polo to cruise the Black Sea and view the Total Eclipse of August 11, 1999.
Our first stop was a monastery near Athens. Currently it's a historical site operated as a museum.
From the monastery we continued by bus to Delphi, the site of the most revered oracle in classic Greece.
The town of Delphi was moved in the late 19th Century to permit the excavation of the ancient city.
In Delphi there is a museum we visited with ancient Greek artifacts.
We spent the night in modern town of Delphi.
After a night at a pleasant hotel overlooking the Gulf of Corinth we visited the site of ancient Delphi. The modern town was removed to its present location in the 19th Century to permit the excavation of these wonderful ruins.
