Connemara

Connemara is the western part of the County of Galway. It is a broad peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean. Twelve "bens", rugged mountains, rise around 2000 feet (700 meters), above a plain with many fresh water loughs and salt water inlets. We took two tours.

On the second day (Sunday) of our visit to Galway, Ryan and Gerry rode in a van to Leenane and on to Ballynahinch Castle for luncheon with participants in the economics conference.

On Friday Ryan, Duncan and Gerry hired a car and guide for a more extensive tour, which went as far as Clifden, on the ocean.
